 BULALO BulalĂ´ is a beef dish from the Philippines. It is a light colored soup that is made by cooking beef shanks and bone marrow until the collagen and fat has melted into the clear broth. It typically includes leafy vegetables (like pechay or cabbage), corn on the cob, scallions, onions, garlic, ginger, and fish sauce. Potatoes, carrots, or taro can also be added. It is commonly eaten on rice with soy sauce and calamansi on the side. Bulalo is native to the Southern Luzon region of the Philippines, particularly in the provinces of Batangas and Cavite. A beef soup comprised of shank with bone marrow still inside the bone, Bulalo is considered to be one of the most favorite main dishes in the Philippines. Because of the popularity of this Filipino food, restaurants and eateries specializing in cooking Bulalo were put-up.Some of the famous “Bulalohan” can be found in Tagaytay City (Cavite) and Sto. APO ON THE WALL       Apo  on the wall by Bj Patino is a poem that talks about the narration of a child’s point of view  a bout his rigorous Father and the hanging photo around the wall called “Apo”. The poem tells the reality of life during the reigning of Marcos alongside with the Martial Law . WHY YOU LIKE THIS POEM?        I had a hard time figuring out what the poem was trying to mean at first. It took me how many readings to figure out what it was trying to say. I liked how innocent the child was, and how his father wanted him to stay that way for now. However, I am concerned that his innocence will lead to something dangerous for him. In general, I enjoyed this poem because it was written in a way that resonated with me both now and in the future.  HOW IT MAKE YOU FEEL?       The image of Apo on the wall gave me a new perspective on the truth of martial law.
